NYFW: The Trends

NYFW has officially wrapped and we couldn't be more excited for fall. Although there were the drab dark collections that always accompany fall, we couldn't help but notice a whole lot of colour, and print- print- print, which we loved! And when we say prints we mean: head to toe prints, mixed and matched prints, printed pants, and printed jackets, you name it and it was printed. But as much print as there was, it seemed everyone agreed on one thing- make it floral!

In the Garden:

In a season usually known for black, grey, and a vast array of neutrals, we adored the multitude of colour shown on the runway for Fall. Tangerine is the colour for spring 2012 and it looks like we are not ready to give it up. Splattered all over the Fall runway was a mix of stunning shades of orange and red, but they were not alone up there, yellow and  hunter green made a huge pop as well!

Orange You Glad:

DVF, Phillip Lim, Karen Walker, Rebecca Minkoff, Calvin Klein, BCBG

A Blast of Sunshine:

Karen Walker, Milly, Nanette Lapore

The Hunt is on:

Charlotte Ronson, Marc Jacobs, Oscar De Le Renta, Milly

We have been talking about fur a lot lately, but never have we seen so much of it! Whether a detail, an accessory, or an outfit, it's a must have for fall 2012.

Band of Outsiders, J Mendel, Michael Kors

And let's not forget the lace!

Catherine Malandrino, Charlotte Ronson, Helmut Lang, Jill Stuart, Michael Kors

But if we learned anything from NYFW to prepare us for fall, it's mix and match these trends like there is no tomorrow: orange lace, lace over yellow, yellow with floral prints, prints with fur, fur with lace. Throw it all on and you can't go wrong!
