NYFW Round Up

New York Fashion Week S/S 2012 has come and gone. And although we felt the runway seemed a little on the safe side for spring, we are thrilled with the continuation of colour from fall. We saw more of it and brighter shades, with fantastic pops of colour ranging from royal blue, kelly green and neon orange. A vintage vibe was picked up in many of the collections, ranging from the Great Gatsby's 1920s at Ralph Lauren, to a 60s beach vacay with Alice and Olivia. Here are some of our favorite looks and trends from NWFW. Stay tuned for our coverage of London fashion week next week.

A Pop of Colour:
Cut 25, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Steven Allen, DVF
Bright colours were everywhere, mixing and matching them together for a vibrant pop. We saw everything from bright blue, coral, green and orange to a mixture of sherbets

The Pastel Trouser:
Adam, Philip Lim, Ralph Lauren, Sachin and Babi
One of the most common silhouettes at NYFW was the pastel coloured trouser. This high-waisted full leg pant was seen all over the place in every colour imaginable.

The White Out Continues:
The Row, Philip Lim, DVF

Although colour was a staple for the spring runway, almost every collection featured white. It was strong for fall and looks like it isn't going anywhere. Some designers, like The Row, showed a collection with over half of it in all white.

Runways Best:
Marc by Marc Jacobs, Milly, Steven Allen, Jcrew, Sachin and babi
We loved these looks from the runway, full of colour and fun prints.

But our Favourite collection this go around was the pan am inspired collection from Alice and Olivia. It was Full of flirty silhouettes and colour, taking us on a trip back to the 1960s.
